Course Description:
- At CCBC Costa Mesa, we believe that service unto the Lord is an important aspect to any Biblical education, therefore we offer units for service and missions. Listed below are some of the details involved in this program.
Students are required to serve at their local fellowship a sum total of 64 hours per semester. This service can be in any area chosen by the student (i.e. youth, children, parking lot ministries, etc.). For each 64 hours of service (along with other criteria), 1 unit will be given.
Students are required to find a Proctor (overseer) at their fellowship to help monitor and assess the student’s service work. A proctor sheet will need to be filled out by both the student and proctor for the units to be given.
Students, along with the service, will need to read and write a paper based on the books by Gayle Erwin. These books look at the nature of the Trinity (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) and help show the ‘heart’ of God in relation to people, ministry and service. The papers are required for units to be given. The final book, Before You Hit The Wall, written by Danny Lehman, is a practical ministry tool for those involved in service and evangelism. It discusses aspects of living a life of service and the steps needed for personal renewal and devotion.
Students will be required to attend 5 insight sessions the first Saturday of each month. Students will be required to be involved in one short term mission trip.
SEMESTER REQUIREMENTS:
Attendance one Saturday each month for the Semester – 4 total.
